Many Filipino TikTok content creators (or TikTokers) started small, posting videos based on trending dances or topics. As their followers grow, brands also took notice and started tapping them to help with advertising and promotion.

According to the same TikTok report, 50 percent of Filipino SMEs saw increased revenue when they started selling through TikTok, while 79 percent used the platform to transition to online business.

As more brands and online businesses use TikTok to sell, the competition also grows. And so TikTok content creators became powerful partners in terms of endorsements, partnerships and affiliate programs.

Filipino content creators can earn money on TikTok through various methods, much like content creators from around the world today. And here are the top seven (7) ways you can monetize your content.

It’s not just hoomans who can be Tiktok content creators.

Brand partnerships and sponsored content

Running TikTok ads

This is related to the first item. If you already have a substantial following, you may also be eligible to participate in TikTok’s advertising program, where you can earn money by creating and running ads for various brands or products.

Of course, the brand may need to subsidize your ad costs, which would depend on your agreement with them.

TikTok affiliate commission

TikTok affiliate marketing is a strategy where content creators promote products or services within their TikTok content using unique affiliate links.

When their followers make a purchase through these links, the content creator earns a commission or referral fee from the company or brand behind the product, making it a way to monetize their influence and audience on the platform.

Offering online courses or consultations

If you have specific skills or ideas that can help many people, share your expertise and offer online courses, coaching sessions or consultations related to your niche.

You can promote these services in your TikTok videos and link to them in your profile. In fact, there are many business coaches helping small online sellers grow their business and earn more profit.

But remember to stick to what you’re good at and don’t offer courses you’re not very familiar with.

Selling digital products or services

You don’t have to be TikTokers or influencers to earn from the platform. If you have artistics skills, such as graphic design, music production or video editing, why not offer your services to your TikTok audience.

You can also create and sell digital products like presets, templates or eBooks. But, of course, you still have to create engaging or entertaining videos to promote your services.

Live Gifting

The Philippines is one of the Southeast Asian countries where the TikTok Live Gifting feature is allowed. What exactly is it?

When you go live on TikTok, your viewers can send you virtual gifts with equivalent coins, which can be converted into real money. It also has a feature that allows content creators to collect Diamonds, which are awarded based on the popularity of your LIVE videos.

You must meet the following requirements to turn on LIVE Gifts:

  • Live in a location where LIVE Gifts is available.
  • Be 18 years of age or older (or adhere to local age requirement).
  • Be eligible to go LIVE.
  • Have an account that is in good standing and adheres to TikTok Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
  • Government, politicians, and political party accounts, and other public interest accounts are not eligible to collect Diamonds through LIVE Gifts.

You can also turn Live Gifts on and off if you don’t always want to use it. So, when you go live on TikTok, encourage your audience to send you gifts during your live streams as tokens of appreciation.
