Even more so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s more difficult and more expensive. But as we say, people and planet over profits,\u201d shares <strong>Rizza Lana Sebastian<\/strong>, CEO and Founder of organic and cruelty-free skincare brand, <a href=\"https:\/\/lana.ph\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\"><strong>Lana PH<\/strong><\/a>. It doesn\u2019t just offer products from natural ingredients, but it also promotes a zero-waste lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rizza launched the brand in 2017; she wanted to start a business that was in line with her passion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOne of my pain points then, <em>maraming magandang<\/em> skincare <em>pero hindi akma sa<\/em> weather <em>natin<\/em>. So it made sense that I create skincare for the Philippine weather and for Filipinas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>Sobrang <\/em>saturated <em>na ng<\/em> beauty industry. Especially with logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rizza and Lana PH have been <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ninjavan.co\/en-ph\/logistics-solutions\/vip-express-delivery?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=organic&amp;utm_campaign=ph-blog-rizza-lana-sebastian-lana-ph\">Ninja Pro partners<\/a><\/strong> since they started. The first thing that attracted her was the automatic dashboard for shippers. \u201c<em>Kse ako lang dati nagsusulat sa mga<\/em> waybills <em>dati<\/em>, and<em> ayoko na magsulat gusto ko<\/em> type-type <em>na lang<\/em>. And what I appreciate more is<em> inaaksyuan talaga nila, and ina<\/em>-update <em>nila ako kung ano yung<\/em> resolution.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI also asked them if they can allow us to use our own <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ninjavan.co\/en-ph\/sustainable-packaging\/\" class=\"ek-link\">sustainable packaging<\/a> <em>para hindi na<\/em> plastic <em>&#8216;yung gagamitin. <\/em>And they honored that. As an eco-friendly brand, that\u2019s a huge thing for us and our clients.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From career woman to social entrepreneur<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rizza is one of our admired <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ninjavan.co\/en-ph\/social-entrepreneurs\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Filipino social entrepreneurs<\/a>. She\u2019s known for her dedication to saving the planet through her brands and initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But fate could\u2019ve handed her a different path altogether if not for the encouragement of her boyfriend (now husband) to try entrepreneurship.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI started as a hotelier. And then one day he said, Riz, you have the potential to be a businesswoman! I wasn\u2019t sure <em>sa umpisa<\/em>, but when I finally had the courage to start and do things even if I was scared, I realized <em>\u2018Ahh kaya ko pala!\u2019<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"693\" height=\"619\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.ninjavan.co\/en-ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Lana_Product-1.jpg\" alt=\"Lana PH eco-friendly packaging\" class=\"wp-image-6804\" style=\"width:546px;height:487px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Lana PH uses eco-friendly packaging and reusable bottles<\/em><br><em>that can be refilled at their refilling stores <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>So in 2014, they set out to launch <strong>Whim Manila<\/strong>, a customizable phone case and shirt brand. Lana PH followed three years after. And then in 2020, they launched another body-positive skincare line, <strong>Mink PH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The couple didn\u2019t stop there. \u201cWe started a couple more brands; a jewerly line, a restaurant, and then we built an aesthetic clinic.\u201d Their long list of brands today also includes <strong>Lando Batumbakal<\/strong> (skincare for men), <strong>Lando&#8217;s <\/strong>and<strong> Amarah&#8217;s Corner<\/strong> (restaurants in BF Resort, Las Pi\u00f1as).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although she doesn\u2019t like to play favorites with their businesses, she said Lana PH is the brand that resonates most with her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Learning from tough challenges<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a business owner, you have to be able to eat stress for breakfast,\u201d she says when asked about the challenges she\u2019s faced in running her businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Pinaka<\/em>-challenge was my limited experience with entrepreneurship and limited access to mentors. <em>Lahat ng alam namin ng asawa ko sa business nadapa muna kami bago kami natuto. Pero<\/em> what if someone had guided us that time? We would have avoided expensive mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having experienced that difficulty, she and her husband decided to create a community that helps other small business owners who are just starting and struggling.
