As good word-of-mouth increasingly drives purchase behavior among Filipino shoppers, beauty and fashion ecommerce brands have sought good vibes from <em>budol <\/em>groups like<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/budolbesties\/\" class=\"ek-link\"> Budol Besties<\/a>,<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/4115202375239817\/\" class=\"ek-link\"> Subtle Budol Feed<\/a>, and<a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/thebudolgroup\/\" class=\"ek-link\"> the Budol Group<\/a> (TBG).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best <em>budol <\/em>groups form tight-knit communities where members trust each other\u2019s recommendations for great-value finds; where admins have strict rules to prevent users from gaming the system; and where brands are strictly forbidden from direct-selling on the platform at the risk of getting kicked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But if you can\u2019t sell your own products straight in a <em>budol <\/em>group, then what\u2019s the point of joining one?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"sincerity-and-authenticity-matter\">Best <em>budol <\/em>finds: iincerity and authenticity matter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, you have to understand how much importance <em>budol <\/em>group members place on authenticity. An affiliate link to <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ninjavan.co\/en-ph\/how-to-be-a-shopee-seller\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Shopee <\/a>was posted almost as an afterthought; Rowena heard back from the member that she had tracked over PHP50,000 worth of sales from that single post alone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s <em>mahal, ha<\/em>, it\u2019s not <em>mura<\/em>!\u201d Rowena says of the skincare brand. \u201cIt goes to show, for me, [it\u2019s easier to influence the purchase decision] \u2018<em>pag alam ng tao na totoo, binibili mo, ginagamit mo, at nakikita nila ang <\/em>results.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sincerity trumps everything, even presentation, in Rowena\u2019s experience.&nbsp; <em>\u201cMas na-<\/em>appreciate <em>ng mga tao ang <\/em>real pictures vs stylized ones<em>, \u2018yung <\/em>raw <em>talaga<\/em>,\u201d Rowena explains. \u201c\u2019<em>Di sila masyadong <\/em>concerned<em> na ginandahan mo; mas <\/em>concerned <em>sila na totoo.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>#NinjaTip: Prioritize sincerity in posting about products<\/strong>; even \u201cpotato\u201d pictures from cellphones can express an authentic opinion with far more influence than an insincere or hard-sell presentation, no matter how finely crafted.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.ninjavan.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/online-budo-group.png\" alt=\"online budol shopping\" width=\"632\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Courtesy of the Budol Group Facebook page<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-rules-in-a-quality-budol-group\">The rules in a quality \u201cbudol\u201d group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowena admins for <strong>The Budol Group (TBG)<\/strong>, a small (6,000+ members) but active Facebook group that was founded by her friend, <strong>Jeosen Sy Cua<\/strong>, who signed Rowena on as an admin based on her long experience as a blogger and influencer. \u201cI have more experience with social media, and I\u2019m online a lot more than she is,\u201d Rowena tells us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early on, Jeosen and Rowena recognized that the value of their budol group depended on how real the content on the group was perceived to be \u2014 <strong>not driven by \u201cinauthentic behavior\u201d<\/strong> like sock puppets, fake users and hard-sell posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe always stress that we want to be a useful resource,\u201d Rowena tells us, explaining that she and Jeosen have designed and strictly enforced a rulebook to keep TBG as useful as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, no \u201cuseless content\u201d, which to Rowena smells like an obvious sale: just a copy-paste review, generic screenshot from an online store and an affiliate link. \u201cDeleted <em>ka <\/em>at blocked <em>ka<\/em>!\u201d Rowena says. Affiliate links are allowed, \u201cbut put meaningful content \u2014 your own photo, (reviews in your own words like) <em>bumili ka noon, nag-<\/em>enjoy <em>ka talaga<\/em>,\u201d Rowena explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>#NinjaTip:<\/strong> <strong>Not all budol groups are created equal.<\/strong> Look for a group with an active, engaged group of members; it doesn\u2019t have to be a big group in the tens of thousands, but it does have to score high on the authenticity scale, with less salesy posts and more authentic reviews from actual human users.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-authentically-promote-your-product-on-budol-groups\">How to authentically promote your product on budol groups<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it still possible for beauty and <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.ninjavan.co\/en-ph\/fashion-ecommerce-business\/\" class=\"ek-link\">fashion ecommerce brands<\/a> to promote their products on a <em>budol <\/em>group with authenticity, under these rules? If they\u2019re interested, offer them a voucher for your product \u2014 <em>not <\/em>an outright freebie or a gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Bakit mo bibigyan ng <\/em>voucher<em>, di mo <\/em>outright <em>padadalhan? Para ma-<\/em>experience <em>nya <\/em>what it\u2019s like ordering from you!\u201d Rowena explains. \u201cFrom the get-go, <em>tumitingin sya ng <\/em>product <em>mo, nagbayad sya, dineliver <\/em>mo!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>#NinjaTip: Partner with reliable courier services for your last-mile delivery.<\/strong> This way, you can focus on getting your product to an authentic budol group user, without worrying about the ins and outs of ecommerce logistics.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"step-3-ask-for-honest-reviews-not-outright-positive-ones\"><strong>Step 3: Ask for honest <em>budol <\/em>finds reviews, not outright positive ones<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo long as you let us share our real opinion, there\u2019s no problem,\u201d Rowena confides. \u201cWithin reason, we won\u2019t bash you even if we don\u2019t like it. <em>Pero kung didiktahan mo kami na kailangan <\/em>positive <em>yan<\/em>, forget it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This step does take a little bravery on your part. \u201c<em>Kailangan open ka, hindi mo maga-guarantee na<\/em> 100% <em>maganda yan<\/em>,\u201d Rowena explains. \u201cAt least, <em>open ka<\/em> for improvement,<em> di ba<\/em>?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em><strong>#NinjaTip: Whatever you do, don\u2019t pose as your own customer. <\/strong>\u201c[Some sellers] pose as a buyer of their own store and post their own products, magkukunwari sila na ang ganda ng store na ito, pero kanya yung store, sya yung may-ari!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>With members\u2019 unerring nose for inauthentic behavior, you\u2019re more likely to be reported to the admins, who will ban you permanently for doing this. \u201cIt really doesn\u2019t work, I don\u2019t know why they keep doing it,\u201d Rowena laughs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"effort-that-pays-off\">Online <em>budol <\/em>effort that pays off<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If approached the right way, <em>budol <\/em>groups can be a powerful way to promote your beauty or fashion ecommerce store.
